We took a whirlwind trip to Chicago with one clear mission, experience all the city’s hot dogs (and maybe a few tourist traps along the way). Between bites of mustard-covered masterpieces, we hit Navy Pier for the Ferris wheel, gawked at the skyline from the Observatory, wandered the Aquarium, and got lost among dinosaur bones at the Natural History Museum.
We also invented our own Chicago bucket list stops like Super Dog, for the best Chicago Dogs ever, and Portillo’s & Barnelli’s, for delicious big beef sandwiches. Andrea, meanwhile, was heroically lugging Elin along inside her belly the whole time, double the appetite, double the adventure. By the end, we’d walked miles, eaten our weight in hot dogs, and left the city convinced Chicago is just one big food court with better architecture.
